EASTERN MOSQUITO FISH (gambusia holbrooki) The eastern mosquito fish Also referred to as minnows eat?

Should I try gold fish flakes becuase they are nt taking to betta pellets or ham...I tried ham becuase that what I caught them with. I cought aboiut 7 of them 4 days and only have 2 remailing I put them n a jelly jar and cured the water of chlorine and the drops help there scales and help form desises. Alo their watr gets dirty way fast than the betta just changed my bettas water after 8 days and have to prctally clean theit wate every day and if I miss a day they water becomes soo cloudly that I cn't see threw it. My mom doesn't like fish and didn't want any in the first place and I asked for a fish and she said shewould flush them all if I asked for any thing else about the fish...good thing I got the blowl food and plants before lol. So I can get one of those I begged for a betta for 2yrs before she gave i and then she was super mad at me over it she likes how they look but thinks they stink even though the betta does not smell at all onts only th minnows. Should I keep them in somthing bigger? Can I put tapp water fr he because I can't keep butting 2 bottles of water every day when all I have t do is but one gallon a week for the betta....my nephew is becoming attache to the minnows so I can;t throw them back in the canal...oh hats where I caught them from. Please let me know becuase I don't want them to die.
