What happens if I got an m.I.p. But the undercover officers never physically gave me a ticket?

I was in baton rouge this past weekend and I had a beer in my hand. I got caught by undercover cops and they took all my information like address, age, and number. They took a sample of my drink and called my mom but they never physically gave me a ticket or anything at all. They told me i was being charged with an m.i.p. They only told me they would contact me. I don't live in br and I'm not sure if they will actually charge me or not? What do I do?
