What the hell do I do?

I live in Baton Rouge, most people my age (23) have very different interests than I do and no one seems to give a damn about anything but money, cars, clothes, sex, drugs... need I go on? I'm someone without a place, and I'm not going to have myself defined by the quantity or quality of possessions or my personal features. People have told me they think I'm attractive, that I'm smart and a very thoughtful person. Though here I am alone because I ask questions. Most of these questions are existential or has to do with a sense of identity or purpose... I've found that people tend not to associate with people who have thoughts of this nature. I've just got questions, there are no underlying factors in the matter such as depression or psychological disorder. These questions are just very interesting and I find them even more intriguing as I go. I feel that most of these people I come across are afraid of the questions... that they may lose something if they accept them. This is not an obsession it's merely something that started as a simple inquiry and has become more of an investigation. I have no formal education, I went to a trade school for HVAC and was interested in getting into physics because of it. I've been doing nothing but waiting tables for 2 and 1/2 years until I'm 24 to hopefully gain federal grant money to go back to school. I'm at a threshold here.... I'm unsatisfied with life because I feel that I understand a great deal more than I should because of my idleness and the fact that I study people's behavior all day. What do I do with myself? I know too much to feel comfortable working a bullcrap job. I'm limited by my previous job experience and degrees don't seem to be earning jobs anymore. I don't feel I'll be successful at anything because my interests don't agree with what jobs I have available to me. I feel I'll be doing this for the rest of my life and I've started to feel a degree of futility. I'm tired of playing these games with people, going through motions, filling the blank... There is so much nonsense incorporated into everyday life it's absurd. Please, if anyone has some suggestions let me know. I'm not looking for shallow words of encouragement or to be offered a parallel perspective to make me feel as though someone else has gone through this and it will get better... I'm tired of those and they make no difference. If someone has a real suggestion as to a community that asks these questions or a possible career path that will agree with philosophical interests let me know.

Dark red marks on foot arch, is it okay?

Well I've been working out alot, on my feet alot, and today I did a little over 3 hours of rebounding (mini trampoline) and when I stopped to take a break after the 3 hours I noticed there were long red marks all along the arch of my foot. I'm wondering if that's bad or if it just means it's irritated. If it's just irritated that's okay I just want to make sure I'm not really damaging my feet or anything. Because I need to do 2 more hours and I usually do 1 hour of jump rope as well and 2 workout DVD routines and some dancing so I just want to make sure my feet are okay and it's not a sign of an injury to come or anything. Also all the workouts I do are with bare feet, I refuse to workout with shoes on unless I'm dancing because they completely throw me off. ok so im 13. and like 140 pounds...ew....im also 5'6 so im like REALLY fat! i do softball and gymnastics and chearleadding if i make the school team. softball doesnt really help loose weight but gymnastics is helping me tone up a bit. and this week is tryouts for chear at my schoool and im trying out and before we even start we jog for 10 minutes. then we stretch. then we stunt and tumble. and then we have about an hour to ourselves to practice our jumps or cheer or dance. so thats a NICE workout. my legs hurt everyday! and ive also seen an improvement in my legs they toned up a lil. now for food.....oh god! dont get me started! i eat like crazy or i dont eat at all there are days i eat everything in sight and days i eat nothing at all.nothing!its weird...and alo i dont get enough sleep and i cant so dont bother saying that..i get 5 hours a night. so is there anyway i can loose weight preferably by the summer?

So there's three main events for girls in rodeo. Barrel racing, goat tying, and breakaway roping. When trying out for the college rodeo team, do I HAVE/NEED to be great at all three? I have a physics homework problem that has 2 blocks on an inclined surface, thats frictionless. Block 1 is attached to Block 2 which is attached to a mass thats hanging from a pulley. hard to believe at 132 that you need to lose much weight, but anyways it's your choice. And anything that gets your heart pumping faster, anything that makes you move and sweat will help you lose weight. Honestly you wont be able to get up at 5am to jog for an hour, then 45 minute sprint, then elipticle for 45min, jump rope for 30min , and punching bag 30 min, thats like a professional athletes cardio lol(not really but wtv) unless you have VERY VERY good cardiovascular indurance you wont be able to, i'd say youd be alright with 1hr in total, since your still young and you dont wanna use up all ur time on that.. have a good summer, and remember to have fun!

I start my AFROTC Career this September comming up and have been interested in 2 jobs Pilot, and Air Liaison officer. I love the TACP's and i know ALO lead TACP's, so I just wanted to know do Air Liaison Officers ever get to lead the TACP's in combat you know fight the fight with them. I would hate to be stuck behind a desk all day. How can you lead men and dont fight with them. I remember reading an article a while ago talking about how the TACP's complain about not having ALO's as a stable platform and how they are constantly rotated. and so the Chief of staff of the air force is pushing to make them there own job much like they did with Combat Rescue Officers with the PJ's. WHo nwo train and see combat with the PJ's. So as an ALO will I get to see combat with my men. I am moving to a new place, and since I didn't do too well here in the friend department, I've decided to become a much more likable person. I have already decided that I should be much nicer to other people than I was here, be more socially interactive, and to have friendlier attitudes around people. But that leaves one thing-- physical appearance. I am not too concerned with this one and won't completely change myself for other people because I know as long as I am a nice person, others will like me (save a few exceptions, no one can be friends with all the world). However, I do want to slim down a bit, as of the moment I'm a bit chubby. I have one month until school starts. I have already decided to either run for twenty minutes, or swim for an hour or so every day. I will also try to get off the computer for a while and skip rope or do some jumping jacks and do crunches. And of course I will eat healthy (but I can't go on a complete diet because I am a little short for my age, and I'm trying to eat protein to get taller) But is there anything else I can do? Should I try gold fish flakes becuase they are nt taking to betta pellets or ham...I tried ham becuase that what I caught them with. Dark red marks on foot arch from exercise, is it okay?

Well I've been working out alot, on my feet alot, and today I did a little over 3 hours of rebounding (mini trampoline) and when I stopped to take a break after the 3 hours I noticed there were long red marks all along the arch of my foot. I'm wondering if that's bad or if it just means it's irritated. If it's just irritated that's okay I just want to make sure I'm not really damaging my feet or anything. Because I need to do 2 more hours and I usually do 1 hour of jump rope as well and 2 workout DVD routines and some dancing so I just want to make sure my feet are okay and it's not a sign of an injury to come or anything. Also all the workouts I do are with bare feet, I refuse to workout with shoes on unless I'm dancing because they completely throw me off. What are some effective ways to build grip strength for wrestling?

iv done the wrist roller since a long time ago, even up to 20 pounds on it but it doesnt seem to really translate into grip strength atleast not what iv noticed. iv alo been using these metal grippers, not captian of crush but one of them has up to 150 pounds of tension, i can close that one but just barely. also have a 100 pound/50 pound gripper too, how effective do you think grippers are and whats a good workout plan with them? btw can daily chores like squeezing a wet mop dry also help with grip strength? Oh and iv been doing deadlifts, but usually i lose my grip on it rather then it being too much for my legs/back. but would the deadlift also be a good exerises for grip strength?

okay first of all, next time get better hair dye. next i am totally with you on the swim caps. they hurt and look like poo. what you might want to try is putting your hair in a bun on top of your head and swimming with your head out of the water. however you said that you have short hair so it might be hard to put in a bun. if by "running" you mean that it comes out of your hair and into the water, then no they cannot make you. because, if you do wear a swim cap, your skin has medical irritation and it can harm you. if you don't wear a swim cap, it harms everyone else in the pool because hair dye is chemicals and not everyone wants to be exposed to those chemicals. ask your teacher if there is an alternative activity you can do during swim. at my school, if somebody forgets their bathing suit, etc., my teacher has them walk around the pool. hope this helps!! tell me how it works out because i have been trying to get out of swim class forever. thanks :D

Me and middle aged old man? (idk who it was) but we went into this forest and I was skeptical to go because I didn't feel right. i went to the beach saturday and it is now monday..I did not use any sunscreen and we were out there for about 3 hours, I was really pale because i had been pregnant and had not been in the sun for about a year and i usually tan easy. Dry hair help in Arizona!?

I'm at the end of my rope with my hair. Two weeks ago I went to a water park which I'm sure had heavily chlorinated water. Then about a week ago, I got highlights. Since the water park incident and the highlights, my hair has hardly any curl, is much much much drier than normal and feels like straw. It also doesn't take to well to my mousse anymore and I end up with straight-ish, crunchy hair. Plus, I live in Arizona where it's ridiculously dry and has hard water (even with a water softener at my house.) Can someone please help? I'm about to cut all my hair off! i like to wear t-shirts. i hate any clothing that's tight, low, see-through, or small. t-shirts are perfect. yet, my parents are getting so mad and are even threatening to make RULES for what i can wear. it's like they want me to wear tank tops, tight things, revealing things. but when i wear those things i'm disgusted. like, i feel disgusting... it's a hards feeling to describe. i feel like guys are pervs and i cant stand it. i always look around and see straps exposed, see through tops with bras showing through, or bra lines showing through. i hate it so badly. i never ever ever want any of those things to show. i hate guys staring and knowing thos things. my parents alo get mad bcause i also always wear a big jacket over my clothes. it's for more protection. even if i just wear a shirt, i always wear a camisole and two tank tops underneath to conceal everything. btw, if i wear a tank top, a camisole underneath and then a strapless bra underneath the camisole so i don't show any of my underclothing will people think i'm not wearing a bra or something? is there any way to wear a bra under a tank top without showing any of it?

Am i exercising too much??

My average day of exercising includes running a minimum of 3 miles, jump rope for 10 minutes, swimming the freestyle for 30 minutes and then 10 minutes of breaststroke and backstroke, Sometimes I even run an extra mile of 1/5 mile sprints. I then workout which goes on average punching the heavy bag for 5 rounds (15 min) with 1 min breaks, then preacher curls, pull ups, chin ups, push ups, bench press, butterfly press, shoulder press, butterflys, dips, barbell curls, hammer curls, sitting rows, shoulder shrugs, lat pull downs, dumbell rows, and dumbell raises- all of this is 3 sets of 12 and this is done every alternating day , on the days i am not doing this workout i do legs and stomach, I am not going to explain it all but it includes the 3 mile run, swim, and jump rope, leg extension, leg press, leg curls, sumo squats, captains chair, stationary bike, stair master, decline crunches leg raises, planks, ---- I do the first workout on monday, wednesday, and friday, and I do the second (legs and stomach) on tuesday, thursday, and saturday. Sunday is my only off day, so tell me if you think this is way too much or just okay?!?!?!?!

Why are privates school and public schools the same?

so i have been to both private schools and public schools. i went to public school from kinder garten to 3rd grade and then from 4th grade to the 11th grade i went to a private school in california and i am now 17 and in 12th grade and am currently attending a public school again. but my question was ..why is private school usually costly and has stricter requirements if they are very much alike if not the same... for example from 6th through 11th grade in the private school many people had drugs and got into fights and even some had intercourse on campus ...it was crazy! and it was very easy to deal druggs because the dealers would do it in the bathrooms and the security guards would only guard the front door the lunch corridor and the office hallway ..most of them just sat in the teahcers lounge awaiting deployment to a classroom or something ..it was nuts and i cannot believe my parent paid 2,000 a year for it! it seems like a rip off! ......so now i am attending a public school it is pretty decent compared to private school ..here at this public high school there arent really drugs other then the weed smuggled by the potheads ..the fights only happen 2 or 3 times a year ....and there is many security at this school ..and the security ride ehicle around the campus and are buff tall guys ..unlike at private school ,whos security was skinny 40 -50 year old men in uniform. also there are alo of them walking around the campus all through out the school day ....everything seems better and people seem happier at this school...and the best thing is that its FREE! so i wanted to know why is it that private schools charge money if there is little to no difference.

There was a fight last Friday night one of the fighters name was Davis jr any way my point is these were two of the worse robbery's I have ever seen. Last nights fight was called a majority draw. I have Aspergers syndrome. Besides work I spend all of my time at home alo e with my grandma. I am 22 years old, I don't date, I don't go out with friends, etc. I basically sit on the swing at the park an listen to music, sit on facebook, or watch tv. Part of me wants to date and make friends an part of me doesn't. I am basically addicted to facebook, but will never "chat" with people. How do you polish aluminum on big rigs?

Ok so I first started off with sanding everything down with a 400 grit sander, then I moved up to an 800 grit sander. I started my polishing with a yellow airway and brown rouge. It looks pretty good, however it's not close to being a mirror finish. I'm also getting a lot of smudging, and cant seem to get rid of it. Just for kicks, I tried the white airway buffer and the white polishing bar and it made my finish look even worse. Is the trick of the finish in the sanding? I'm also doing one of those huge grills that are put on the truck in the event a truck hits an animal. Any tips on getting to all the nooks and crannies that the buffer wheel can't get at?

Help please i am soo depressed?

I am really self concious. I am always looking in the mirror looking at my imperfection but especially my weight. I just cant stand how fat i am. i am 181 lbs and my height is 5'6. So, i feel depressed, and i feel ugly and jealous at people who are thin. I have almost 3 weeks that i have been eating healthier and almost 1 week of doing 1 hour of exercise(jump rope) everyday and walking another 40 min but walking is only sometimes. so i am doing something, but i feel like i am not going to lose any weight and i am going to stay fat. I noticed though that i feel better and a little slimmer and my mom also says that. I sweat a ton when i do exercise by the way. But, I feel depressed, and almost like living isnt worth it. I know physical appearance isnt everything but come on, we all want to look good, or be skinner.

You should do a lot of cardio first to lose the fat. Then start to add in weight lifting, etc and eat more protein. Increase the amount and intensity of the chest exercises as you get better. Then, when you have your ideal body, keep the level of difficulty constant, unless your chest starts to get too big. Then you can decrease the amount and intensity a little bit, and it should get smaller pretty quickly. Good luck!

I started a new job about a year ago and I met this older woman I have grown to be attracted to. When we first met we would only discuss work related items and we work in two different buildings so I would rarely see her. After a a while we started talking about more than just work. We started working on weekends together and going to dinner after work. She would always ask me if i needed anything for lunch and she usually calls me when she leaves every night and calls me when she arrives in the morning. she also calls me when she is driving home from work. She always tells me we should go to dinner after work. She also asks what I do on the weekend and how my family is doing. She also tells me to call her if i get bored or if i need something to definently call her. If I'm not at my desk when she calls she usually finds her way to my building and to my office to talk if she has not seen me all day. When we go to lunch or dinner it's always just her and I and she does not tell anyone within the office that we see one another outside of work. I don't tell anyone either. If i work on a weekend she usually tries to work the same day as I do. She is quite a bit older than I am but she is 45 and I am 29. She told me a story of how another co worker in one of our other buildings was saying some mean things to her and trying to ask her out and that she would never date anyone she works with or anyone like him. Then she asked me if I wanted to go to dinner with her that night. She said i am a much better guy than the one who said some mean things to her and that I could easliy have any women I want with no problem. A lot of our co workers compare me to the other gentlemen because they think i am this player type but she knows i'm not. We have been hanging out with one another for a while. I just recently moved into a new place and she said she wants to come over and alo meet my mother who lives with me because she is sick. She drops these hints that she only dates young guys and when i am dressed in outside of work clothing she always comments on how nice my shirts are or she likes what i have on. How to slim down my massive bulky calves? Diet, exercise, stretching etc?

I am thin everywhere, else, I have literally no fat unfortunately in my butt, hips, and I am completely flat in the chest area because since the summer started, I noticed that all my fat started going to my calves. It looks really weird because my thighs and everything else is thin, except my calves, which look bulky and manly. I'm not sure if because I used to have gym in the school year, but I still jog 1.5 miles 3-4 times a week, and stretch a lot. My mom has "german" calves genetically and so do my sisters, but my dad's side is japanese and have very thin legs. Could it be from my mom's side, even though this came kind of suddenly because I used to have "chicken" legs. Are there any exercises to slim them down, and NOT make bulky, so no weights, or calf raises etc. I just want skinny calves if that would be possible. Does jump roping help slim down bulky calves or does it make them worse and does jogging help or make it worse? Is there a certain diet? PLEASE HELP, i want to get them back down before school starts so I can wear all the dresses and skirts I bought previously. I don't want to be stuck wearing long pants all the time!

Help my pup tears up my chicken pen?

i have a 4 month old pup.we have chickens that stay in a big pen with wire around it and sleep in a little hut kind of that we open in the morning with a rope. the last few days my pup has been teaing bits of the wire out and the chickens will get out and start to eat grass, sometimes my pup will look at them ans sometimes she will bark. we patched the wire up and this morning i went to let out the chickens when i seen a new hole, the pup had gotten through and tried to let the sleeping cickens out of bed by pulling the rope (not succeeding thank god) what shall i do? the pup is half sheltie if that helps
