How do you move contacts from a memory card to a phone?

Okay so I saved all my contacts and pictures to a memory card and it said they all saved. I put the memory card into a different phone and all the pictures moved but none of the contacts are showing up? Is there a certain thing you have to d, or should it automatically just add them in? Please help. The phone I'm trying to get the contacts on is a Samsung Rouge. Asap! Thank you !!
